Conversational Hypnosis: a Full Discussion

Filed under: Non-Assigned, Psychology Resources, Self Improvement Portal — admin @ 9:17 pm

While the subject of much dispute, numerous practitioners use and promote conversational hypnosis and programs such as Underground Hypnosis as useful techniques. It’s simplistic to mistake hypnosis for “mind control”, however, as the famous adage concerning “mind over matter” holds true — you can communicate messages easily and assuage, or even treat, physical, mental and of course emotional complaints through the unconscious mind. And so you see its uses can vary between the funny suggestions found on television or at frat parties and worthwhile treatment for mental disorder or various addictions. We do understand how what you’ve heard might seem somewhat unnerving, but the experts have it down to a science and cause few if any difficulties.

Now we turn our attention to underground hypnosis, as well as comparable methods of black ops hypnosis, and consider the goal; inducing trance. How deep the person falls into a trance state will be influenced by aspects including their personality, emotional status, and hypnotist’s ability. At the earliest level, their minor muscles will relax at their unconscious instruction. They feel as if they want to go to sleep. Some find it ab effort to keep their eyes open. You can watch shoulders slump as this pleasant relaxation spreads throughout the body in no time at all.

It’s possible to lead subjects down to trances deep enough that the only sound heard is that coming from whoever has hypnotized them. The storied power of suggestion can be explored now. When deep enough you’ll find you can block recollection in specific areas — or to suppress physical feeling.

Beyond that lies hallucination and altered perceptions, and if you continue, you’ll eventually bring yourself to a state like that found through anesthesia. It’s not unheard of for this kind of hypnotic state to be used to help with medical procedures.

The Underground Hypnosis system doesn’t go quite that far; but that won’t be any difficulty. No, when aiming for the common goals of a hypnotist, you can stick with the lighter levels of trance.

There are no boundaries on the Underground Hypnosis crew — all are welcome. Would this take long, you wonder? No time at all — some speedy mental legwork, some time to test the tricks involved, and you’ll soon find you’ll have a real party piece. Why are you worried? Get in touch and learn.

Foundations of Visualization

We want to have a good foundation in your visualization, in your Deity manifestation, and in your interaction with the Deity. We want to be feeling the resonance, and we want to have our song playing in our head. That’s because you’re going to draw on all of that as you begin to awaken to aspects of yourself that have gone to sleep.

All that we’ve talked about comes down to reaching out and connecting with the other aspects of ourselves, and using that array of resourcesthe resonance that’s becoming a part of youto help them find the seed of resonance within them. That’s another way of saying that the Divine Heritage provides us with everything we need. That’s what I’m getting out of this: I have the tools, I can do this.

We talked about value judgments in the last talk. Basically, what you’re doing in this is connecting with an aspect of your self without any value judgment. You’re not saying, “This part is right, but that part is wrong.” You’re not saying, “That part should have done.…” You’re connecting with that part of you without a value judgment, and you’re singing your song with it.

There is imagery of, say, Vajra Yogini dancing within a six pointed starvery, very ancient imagery. What you’re giving me you is a container. Then I have Lego blocks, and I can build any kind of house I want. But you want to make sure that the specifications are good, so that it will serve me. The specification of the Deity in the center of the circle really has to do with your heart resonance. In other words, you want something there with which you have a connection.

My Hair Loss Story

Filed under: Beautiful You, Health Hall, Self Improvement Portal — admin @ 11:06 am

My hair loss treatment journey began the day I started to notice my receding hair line and my bald spot growing bigger. I would spend hours and hours looking for styles to comb my hair a particular manner to hide my hair loss. I got down to wear more and more hats on the weekends as I went out with my wife, acquaintances or family. Walking in to work every morning without my hat was a tough experience. Your thinking changes when you are going through hair loss. It is so true that you never know what you have until you lose it. That can be true about your hair loss.

Having suffered from hair loss, I began to treasure every strand of hair that I had left. It was as if with each strand of hair I lost, so was a small percentage of my confidence gone as well. I was not alone, a friend of mine had been having from the same problem as me. I noticed lately that he seemed so much more relaxed and it looks as though his hair was growing back. I never wanted to bring it up but after a while I decided to ask. It was then that he told me about Advanced Hair Studio. My friend Josh told me that he had only had a few treatments and has already started to see some positive results, he not only regrown his hair, but his self-confidence as well. After seeing what Josh has achieved from Advanced Hair, I made up my mind to pay them a visit.

I was a little cynical at first. Results were evident within a few weeks. Not only on my head, but in my behaviour. I started to lose the caps on the weekends and I quickly began to feel better about myself. My wife has also discovered a change in my day to day behaviour as well. It is amazing how just a few trips to the Advanced Hair Studio had begun to change my life as a whole. I have constantly been shy about people noticing my bald spot. Now, I am not concerned to look people in the eyes again as I have my full set of self esteem back.

Advance Hair Studio has not only given me back my hair little by little, but a big part of my confidence as well. So, if anyone is experiencing hair loss I highly recommend them. Don’t let baldness take your self-assurance away.

Importance of Managing Your Budget

Filed under: Economy + Finance, Self Improvement Portal — admin @ 2:24 am

While managing your budget can be stressful, not handling your monthly budget can contribute to putting you further in debt if you are not careful. Overseeing your budget the right way has many benefits including saving you money and help relief some of your tension over debt. Always keep in mind that a budget is primarily a plan for your monthly expenditure. A budget, like any programme, demands some level of management to make it work for you. The manner I oversee my budget, for example, is by focussing on keeping info organised and controlling my spending.

My main focus is on organising the info in my budget. I keep an eye on running expenses like utilities, car and loan repayments, insurance, and the like, for example. Consider that without coordinating my budget, I can very easily lose track of my spending. By being conscious of what expenses repeat every month, I have an imminent hold on the minimum amount of money I have to put aside each month before I spend on other things I can control a little more such as entertainment, clothing, and holidays.

To make a financial progression, I make sure that I monitor my spending closely in my budget. A strong measure of advancement is placing money into a savings instrument or paying down debt. However, if I over spend, the contrary is true because rather than saving money I will use debt to help me cover the monthly expenditure in my budget. Distinctly, giving in to the stresses of budgeting can have costly outcomes for my finances, specially if I am unable to pay down my debt.

There are two gains for moderating and organizing my budget: First, I save money by fending off redundant expenditure. Second, my finances are pointed at achieving financial goals. Fundamentally, by spending wisely and buying only things that are necessary, I am actually freeing up money that I can either use for something else or save. The spare money can also be useful in paying off debt or keeping it for a vacation. In addition to having extra money, I am able to establish longer term financial goals like saving and investing for retirement or paying off my mortgage or student loans. With my budget being organised and controlled, not only does my financial position become more dependable but successfully managing my budget reduces the stress that often comes with being in debt.

Alone and Looking for Singles Events in a Brand New City

Filed under: Counseling, Finding Partners, Self Improvement Portal — admin @ 5:55 am

Not that I don’t like to admit it, because I didn’t always have Great Expectations for my dating life. Here’s the scoup, last night I filed three years of back taxes. To ease the pain of loneliness, for once. That actually happened. What does this mean? Actually, it’s when I initially considered joining a dating service in Denver or Dallas.

No problem. I can mix up my social life thru professionally hosted Denver singles events. Probably sounds like a plan. Prolly wouldn’t be an issue, but it is. We were at my 40th birthday at Oak Park last night, Mom wanted to know if I’ve met the love of my life. They sure have nerve. I didn’t want to answer, but then laughed, “No.”

Can you believe that even Cousin Terry mindlessly kept jabbing me on the topic of my companionship situation. I joked to the family gang: “Seriously, my romantic destiny is right over there!”

Guess what? No one knew what I was talking about, as usual. Shortly after, I called Dave because the dating pressure was too much. I still have no idea what to do! I would have learned more by asking my son. Doug, who is now a Budist monk or something offered his opinion that I mingle at singles events by Great Expectations. I said, “Sure, whatever.” Should have thought of it myself. I can speak highly of Great Expectations Denver.

At the time, singles events and mixers were new from my perspective. I showed up already a little anxious, that my hands started sweating. My emotional anxiety did not pull the plug on a great time. The evening was full of crazy-fun mingling. The truth is I’ll never forget all the honest, desirable singles.

There’s something great about going to these glorious Great Expectations Dallas, I rubbed elbows with quite a few winners that must feel the same way I do which made for a magnificent singles event. I really shouldn’t allow anyone give me a hard time about me being single at my age. Wonderfully enough, dating in Dallas with Great Expectations is my pleasure and a remarkably refreshing dating experience.

Discovering Your Life Won’t Halt with Medical Hair Loss

Filed under: Beautiful You, Health Hall, Self Improvement Portal — admin @ 9:49 am

As a girl, invisible lace wigs were not always my passion. Dancing was my goal. That was true till two years ago when my hair began to thin due to medical hair loss. I resolved that I wouldn’t condone the outcome of showing up at work as the shiny-headed Mr. Clean of this world.

I believed that I was all alone, without beautiful hair. I felt like that it would be hard to recover wonderful fashion and the hair to match. Man, I was mistaken. Way before I found my real human hair wig, I went through a number of hot phony hair extensions that got my texture all wrong. My man Harry worked his magic and found a few medical wig stores offering lace front wigs I could wear proudly.

Anyhow, I jumped into the car and took a good look at their wigs. I noticed an inventory of glorious, dignified lace front wigs. Their tailored African American wigs made me so happy!

Trying on the perfect wig, a woman similar to myself can develop confidence while accepting her hair loss. Now I see this as an opportunity to show off my fashionable golden locks. This meant the world to me to proudly regain my personality at the dinner table.

Perhaps I’m getting out of hand as I ramble, but remember my style is an important aspect of my emotional well-being. Could there be further to life than an amazing flow of hair? Boy, it wouldn’t be right if that were so. Lace Front wigs look so good!

You would not believe what these blessings have done for me. Only close friends and family know about me and alopecia. But that’s life, I’m very glad to be alive. Fashionable Medical Wigs made so much better for me.

Some might feel my method needy. They have no idea. Doesn’t everyone have something small that makes being alive so fantastic? Personally, it’s kitchenware (haha!) and my gregarious personality.

Love Your Hair,

Provoking My Productivity Potential

Filed under: Self Improvement Portal — admin @ 11:06 am

In a recent blog posting, Stephen Shapiro, author of the recently released book, Goal-Free Living, speaks of changing the way you approach New Year’s Resolutions.

Rather than resolutions, he says to choose one or two words to describe your next year. He calls these themes. So, instead of dieting, “health” or “confidence” may be good themes.

After reading Mr. Shapiro’s blog (and ordering the book), I began to ponder what my “theme” would be for 2006. My first thought was to “relax” more and not to be in such a rush to fit everything into everyday. Another was to make my time “count,” i.e. be the most productive, so I could have some free time or at least not feel so “pressured.”

Everything seemed to point to productivity. If I could be more productive, this would help my stress levels and ultimately allow me to feel like I have accomplished something day to day, week to week, etc.

So my theme is productivity. What does this entail? Well, as I started making a list, turned out to be quite a lot.

Over the past two years I have read many books and articles on time management. Millions of people read the same information in hopes of making more money, having more free time, less stress and accomplishing more in their daily lives. I ultimately want control of my day. If I can have control and don’t feel like my day is controlling me…I am happy.

Therefore, with the aid of the time management gurus and a few things I have come up with on my own, here are my 10 items to help make me productive in 2006.

Number 1: Make a list of the things I need to accomplish (on the following day) before I go to bed. I have read where this helps your subconscious start working on the list. For me, it helps me get out of bed quicker and easier the next morning because I know where I need to start my day; i.e. number 1 on the list. As I look at the list, I don’t feel so overwhelmed because I know getting through the list is “doable.”

Number 2: Get up at the same time everyday. For me, this is 5:30. Sit up, get out of bed and do not think of hitting the snooze. This has helped me gain a few hours each day, which leads to bonus days and weeks over the course of a year.

Here is a bonus tip: Put your alarm clock out of reach. I have to walk across the room to turn my alarm off. Therefore, I am already up. My wife will tell you, I am pretty much “out of it” when I sleep. I am very capable of hitting snooze while still in “la-la” land. I must move the alarm out of reach.

Number 3: Set two to three uninterrupted time segments during the day to generate money. These are the times when I focus on making money. Fifty minutes is what works for me; no phone calls, answering emails, pee breaks, etc. A great idea is to set a timer. Work straight through your designated time period until the “bell” goes off. This has probably been the best piece of advice (from Alex Mandossian- http://www.alexmandossian.com/) that I have put into practice to help me be more productive. I feel more accomplished each day knowing that I put these focused, revenue generating times into my day.

Number 4: Take small breaks throughout the day. For me, this is immediately after the revenue generating periods. It is a quick break to re-charge my brain. This can involve a walk around the office, grabbing a healthy snack or catching a quick segment of “The View” (http://abc.go.com/daytime/theview/) on T.V. Some gurus will recommend a “power nap” during the day. I rarely do this. Once I am up, I am up. However, depending on your situation, this may be a geat choice for you.

Number 5: Take one full day off per week. Some weeks I will get in two! I do not allow myself to get caught up in work details (unless there is an absolute emergency). These days are mostly filled with family activities and “honey-do” projects around the house (you know, honey do this, honey do that). This has been a great addition to my productivity plan. I was reluctant to try it at first. I soon realized, however, it actually makes me more creative and efficient on my work days.

Number 6: Exercise daily. I am launching my new video within the next week entitled “It’s Hip To Be Fit! It has two 7 minute routines designed with the busy professional/working parent in mind. These are full body routines that have strength training and cardiovascular benefits included. I come up with some of my best ideas when exercising. It makes me feel more energized throughout my day as well. I could go on for hours about the benefits of exercise; mostly to make one more productive.

Number 7: Plan my meals. This is probably the most overlooked area in most individual’s fitness and daily routines. Food is fuel for the body, especially the brain. I like to include this plan on my “night before” to do list. At the very least, I make a quick mental note of what and when my next meal or snack will be. I do this immediately after finishing a meal or snack. I am not hungry after finishing a meal and make “fuel choices” vs. “foolish choices.”

Number 8: Twice a week write down 20 ways to improve what I am currently doing. The areas can include business, personal, spiritual and relationships. Some gurus will recommend doing this daily. I find this gets repetitive. For me, better ideas come with writing 20 ideas just twice a week. It is like a personal brainstorming session. I have been amazed at the results in my productivity with just this activity alone. I will have my wife do the same thing and then we will compare lists. It has helped us to understand each other’s goals and helped spark new ideas for all areas of our lives.

Number 9: Read, listen or watch new information daily. I try to get in 2-3 hours of learning each day. For me, this includes fitness, financial, marketing, motivational and spiritual learning. This helps improve my knowledge base. Knowledge is everything; it gives me options.

I am able to get this learning time in by getting up early and by listening and watching learning material while I exercise and/or do “honey-do” activities. There is so much information on audio and video today that I am able to accomplish this while multi-tasking.

Number 10: Jot down 5 things that went well over the course of each day and 5 things I would have done differently. I usually do this immediately before writing my list of “to do” items for the next day. I reflect on each item mentally, only writing down the things I really need to take from any experience. This has helped my stress more than anything; showing me what I have accomplished each day. Also, it shows me that the things that did not go so well are not that bad or that there is a viable way to correct them.

I have done each of these things, one time or another, over the past several years. For 2006, I am putting them into practice daily.

The idea is to help me with my New Year’s theme or resolution.

The theme for me is productivity, both for myself personally and hopefully to those around me. No, I don’t claim to have all the answers. I can say these ten tips have worked for me. Honestly, as mentioned before, I think this gives me a sense of control and peace to each day.

My goal is to provoke the potential inside myself.

Ultimately, I want this plan to help make me a better me…one day at a time.

Isn’t that what all resolutions are about?
