Vodafone’s Signal Boosting Device to Be Re-Launched

Filed under: Consumer Market — admin @ 5:45 am

Vodafone is all set to re-launch its signal-boosting device that will help users get uninterrupted connectivity with their mobile broadband and phones without having to put up with the problem of weak signals.

Vodafone has christened its new product the Sure Signal box. This device resembles a small antenna that can be attached to a fixed-line home broadband connection. It is based on the latest femtocell technology, and is claimed to significantly enhance Vodafone’s mobile coverage when used with fixed-line broadband. The device enables 3G coverage over a limited area and enhances the quality of the broadband connection within this area.

The signal boosting device had a trial run last year, when it was launched as the Vodafone Access Gateway. However, consumers did not seem much interested in the booster, because the £160 price tag was rather discouraging. Moreover, the booster failed to deliver what it had promised, as network coverage was still weak for those who opted for this product back then.

However, with this second launch of the product, Vodafone promises to offer a better network experience to its customers. The company claims that the latest product has none of the teething problems that characterised it during the previous launch. Even the price of the product has been brought down to £50.

The chief executive of Vodafone in Britain, Guy Laurence, was confident that customers would be completely satisfied with the product’s performance this time around. He added that the product would prove to be indispensable in strengthening signal and coverage for people/workers dependant on office broadband living or running an office from a basement where typically connectivity is an issue.

However, many people who may have good network coverage may not be willing to pay £50 to Vodafone to get a booster. Sales of this new product may well be limited only to those customers who face frequent network problems.
